At Alverdia Health, we focus on holistic care and wellness for patients who struggle with acute anxiety, depression, life stressors and burn-out. Most of our patients are between the ages of 21 to 65 and share a committed interest in improving their overall mental health and general health and well-being.
In the same way that a doctor’s office is different from an Emergency Room, Alverdia Health is a small practice that is not equipped to treat conditions that require urgent and immediate care.
Please note that at this time, Alverdia Health is unable to accept patients with any form of Medicare or Medicaid (Mass Health)
Yes, we do! For your convenience, Alverdia Health offers video visits (called telepsychiatry) to patients that live in Massachusetts through our secure online platform.
With telepsychiatry by Alverdia Health, you are guaranteed the same personalized care as in-person visits, without the hassle of travel but with the added benefit of comfort and flexibility. Telepsychiatry is available to both new and established patients at no additional charge.
Please note that at this time, this service is only available to those that reside within Massachusetts state lines. Please also note that telepsychiatry visits are not available to new patients on controlled substances and that in some cases, in-office visits may be recommended by the doctor.
Requesting a consultation for Alverdia Health is quick and easy! To begin, simply click here and fill out our easy to use online pre-screen questionnaire. Questionnaires will be reviewed twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays. Kindly note that it may take 1-7 days to review the form. We will contact you if we assess that we can best serve your needs.
We value your time and understand that you’re looking for the best practice to fit your needs. To help determine if Alverdia Health can help address your concerns, we will review the responses of your completed questionnaire to assess your current requirements, goals, and case-specific needs.
This questionnaire is designed to ensure that Alverdia Health is a good fit for you without requiring you to make any time or financial commitments. If at the end of the review we believe you would be better served by another type of treatment, we will inform you of this assessment.
- Complete your paperwork within 48 hours so we can honor your appointment
- Register to Alverdia Health Patient Portal
In order to prepare for your visit, you will be required to complete your paperwork electronically and register to Alverdia Health Patient Portal. These forms must be completed within 48 hours of reception to confirm and secure your appointment. If you would like the provider to obtain or review your records, including recent lab work, please send them through the portal or fax them to (833) 464-0126 before your initial visit.
As part of our philosophy for a whole-person approach to healthcare, we encourage that:
- All our patients have an ongoing relationship with a local primary care provider, and
- That we are authorized by you to collaborate with them for your care.
Be prepared with the information of your current and former healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, primary care doctors, OB-GYNs, neurologists, psychotherapists, etc. Alverdia Health will need to contact these providers to collaborate with them on your care.
For your security as well as your convenience, most of our communication occurs through our state of the art portal. Our Patient Portal provides more security than email and text messaging while still allowing for quick and effective communication.
To visit the portal click here.
The duration and frequency of your visits are determined on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the provider. It is common that at the beginning of treatment, you are seen approximately once a month for 15-30 minute sessions. As you continue to progress in your treatments, fewer visits are necessary and are determined by the provider.
We offer at this time only Telepsychiatry visits which are convenient and can be easily accessed even when there is bad weather. If you have a power outage, you can reschedule your appointment at another time convenient to you without extra charge.
If you are unable to make your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Alverdia Health does not double book appointment times, so your time is reserved specifically for you. No shows or late cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged a fee of $50.
Please note that if you are an established and ongoing patient, you are responsible for rescheduling your appointment before you run out of any prescribed medication.
At Alverdia Health, we strongly believe that controlled substances are best used sparingly, carefully, and only for a very limited amount of time. When used for prolonged periods, some controlled substances may become addictive and foster dependency or safety concerns.
At our practice, we do not prescribe controlled substances. We prefer the implementation of psychotherapy, positive lifestyle changes, and the administration of non-addictive medications to best address the needs of our patients.
Please note that as a general policy Alverdia Health does not prescribe controlled substances.
No, we do not. Evaluations for disability, worker’s compensation (workers comp), support animals, and forensic evaluations are best done by medical professionals that specialize in those areas.
