About our psychiatrists

Dr. Catline Jaqcues

Catline Jacques, MD, Founder

US-born and Haitian-raised, Catline Jacques, MD is a graduate of Universite Quisqueya (Uniq) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Dr Jacques spent much of her youth and her early adulthood in Haiti until she permanently moved to the US in 2005.

She completed her psychiatry residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA and a fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. Shortly after, Dr. Catline Jacques found herself specializing in consult-liaison psychiatry (formally called psychosomatic medicine) at the prestigious Cambridge Health Alliance.

Dr. Jacques has worked in a few mental healthcare settings including a local group practice, Psychological Care Associates, PC, and Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA).

At CHA, she worked with the Haitian mental health team for three years where she provided psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services to members of the community and later joined their Primary care Behavioral Integration Service where she provided psychiatric consultation.

Dr. Jacques credits her love of cultural psychiatry to the fulfillment that comes with being able to provide much-needed mental health services to ethnically diverse populations that often do not have access to them:

Optimism. Collaboration. Diversity

“Providing psychotherapy in Haitian Creole, my mother tongue, was one of the most fulfilling experiences in my career. I’ve also worked in the Asian Mental Health team where I enjoyed providing psychopharmacological care to our ethnically diverse Asian population.”

Where is Dr. Jacques now

Currently, Dr. Jacques works full-time at Alverdia Health.

I founded Alverdia Health PLLC in March 2019 as a response to my earlier insight and the need to provide convenient behavioral whole care. I have a special interest in all aspects of mood and anxiety disorders, cultural psychiatry, lifestyle medicine, and Ecotherapy.”

Dr. Amal Kimawi

Amal Kimawi, MD, Consultation-Liaison

Dr. Amal Kimawi grew up in the Middle East where she finished her Medical school before moving to Massachusetts for residency and fellowship training. She is bilingual in Arabic and English with a diverse background.

Dr. Kimawi completed her psychiatry residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA, and did a  fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute in Newton, MA. Dr. Kimawi also specialized in prescribing psychiatric medication as she also finished a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (formally called Psychosomatic Medicine) at Cambridge Health Alliance-Harvard affiliated Hospital.

After graduating from her fellowship program, Dr. Kimawi joined Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in 2016 to work as a Consultation-Liasion Psychiatry attending on the in-patient floors.

Where is Dr. Kimawi now

Dr. Kimawi joined Alverdia Health as an Outpatient Psychiatrist in 2020 where she is responsible for providing a comprehensive evaluation, reviewing medications, and working closely with other team providers including primary care physicians and therapists.

Dr. Kimawi is very passionate about empowering young women and believes that mental health is as important as physical health. She is also interested in learning about different cultures by traveling. When she’s not handling patient consults, Dr. Kimawi spends her free time going to the gym, traveling, trying out new food, and enjoying nature and outdoor gatherings.

To conclude, she leaves this insightful quote by Rumi for readers to ponder,

“What you seek, is seeking you.”
